This is week 18/19 blog.  I missed 18 and  I’m exactly 19 weeks pregnant today.  That’s one week away from 5 months! Also 1 week away from half way done.  I think 5 months pregnant sounds better than 20 weeks.  Sounds like I’m getting closer when you go by months.  I’m feeling the baby a little bit in there.  Nothing major but I am getting so excited to feel her give me a good kick pretty soon.

This is from Aunt Briana from senior trip in Florida
These two are from Jason for mother's day....already protective.

Had some trouble this past week.  On Saturday on our way down to my little brother’s graduation I noticed my back was starting to itch and have some pain.  I knew exactly what it was.  I, for the third time in my life, have shingles again.  Now either you know what that is and how painful it is, or you’re too young to know what that is and think I have some gross disease.  I am actually a 26 year old stuck in a 65 year old body.  Usually they occur in older people but this is just another one of those fabulous things I’m blessed with, with no explanation.  I get them from stress.  My first time was during finals week in college in 2008.  The next was last January when I moved up here to start teaching and was living without Jason.

Pregnant women are supposed to stay away from people with shingles so you can imagine my scare to find out I was pregnant while having shingles!!  I am on medicine, I caught them very early and they aren’t spreading too badly.  I’ve been in a ton of pain and haven’t got a good night’s sleep for a few days but it’s finally starting to feel better.  It’s harming the baby and neither is the medicine I’m on.  Everything is getting better so we should be just fine.

4 days of school left and a field trip tomorrow.  I’m so excited for a vacation from this place for a while.  Our next doctor’s appointment is June 6.  Jason is still hoping she changes in to a boy by then so when we see her she will have more body parts than before and we will be having a boy.  I told him keep hoping.

What a crazy weekend!!  I’m glad it’s over.  I’m so proud of Briana for graduating high school.  I got to see friends and family.  Yesterday was nothing but running around beginning with the time I got up.  Had to pick up my nephew and food in Chillicothe by 10:00 and then decorate and set up then home to get ready, back to party and then on to the school to decorate and graduation.  It was really fun.  More graduation in our future.  My brother graduates next Sunday and my sister Bailey’s birthday is Saturday.  We are also going to celebrate Mother’s Day with Jason’s parents Saturday and cook out.  Lots of running around for us lately.

School is getting closer to being out!  I’m so excited.  Only a couple more weeks and it will be summer vacation.  Our next doctor’s appointment is June 6.  Can’t wait to have that sonogram!  Jason’s parents brought back adorable souvenirs for Kolbi from Florida.  Little hats and shirts, she’s ready for the beach now!  Jason got me a couple baby onesies for Mother’s Day.  They have cute sayings on them.  Didn’t really get to celebrate Mother’s Day for any mother yesterday.  The day was full of graduation.  Mom’s last one is officially graduated though so I’m sure that was a pretty good Mother’s Day gift for her.

These are a few of her souvenirs from Florida.

Movement?  She’s moving, I’m just not feeling any major movement yet.

Food Cravings?  Nothing too specific, just Mexican food still.

Symptoms:  I get worn out easily.  I fell down yesterday holding my nephew so my center of balance is kind of off, plus I tripped on the rug.  I saved him and I’m ok as well.  I am losing and forgetting EVERYTHING!  I have lost they key to my vehicle in the school and CAN’T find it still.  Jason walks around picking up my phone because I would leave it everywhere.  I’m forgetting things.  I have baby brain for sure!

Labor signs?  Nope

Anything make you sick?  Nothing

Miss anything? Lifting things, I feel useless.

Looking forward to anything?  Visiting Jason’s parents Saturday, Graduation again Sunday, Going to Omaha the following weekend after a friend’s wedding, which I am excited for.  The end of school.  I have two school field trips in the next two weeks which will be really fun as well.

We had a doctor appointment Monday and everything is looking great.  My blood pressure is good.  I’ve gained 10 pounds….not a fun part.  Her heartbeat is 152.  Everything is going great here!  We are excited for our next visit which is June 6 because we get to have another sonogram and see baby Kolbi again.  This will be the icing on the cake, ensuring to Jason that she is in fact a girl and has not grown body parts since the last time we saw her.  She should be so much more developed now, I can’t wait to get to see her again.

We had a great day in KC on Monday.  I took the whole day off so Jason and I did some shopping we needed to get done and ate at Buffalo Wild Wings, one of our favorite places that we miss dearly, for lunch.  It was nice to spend the day out together.  We then hung out in Brandi Dixon’s driveway for 30 minutes which is where my picture for the week comes from.  I put out a missing person on her on Facebook with this picture showing her home and asking if anyone had seen her.  She was upstairs napping!! Jason threw rocks at her window.  She finally woke up and let us in so it was great to visit with her as well.

We have started getting gifts as well as buying things ourselves for this little girl.  I think everyone is getting excited.  We are getting close to halfway there.  It’s gone by pretty fast so far.  Every time we go to the doctor and hear her little heartbeat it just amazes me that there is something wonderful in there and that she will be with us in just under 5 months.  I can’t wait!
I’m late on the blog again this week.  Oh well, I’ll try to get on top of this thing one day.

How many weeks?  16 (and 6 days)

Gender:  Girl

Size of baby:  4.6 in, about the size of an avocado

Weight of baby:  about 3.5 oz  She’s getting bigger!  An ounce a week.

Belly Button in or out?  In

Wedding rings on or off?  On

Mood:  I’m very happy.  The weather has been beautiful and school is wrapping up.  I’m still tired after a day at school and sometimes mad for no reason or not a very good reason anyway but for the most part I’m great!

Sleep:  Dreaming….. Sleeping great.  If I sleep in a position she doesn’t like I can feel something in there moving around.

Stretch marks?  Not yet…….

Maternity clothes?  No but starting to build my collection.  I know it’s coming soon.  One day the pants just aren’t going to go over my butt any more…I can feel it getting close!

Favorite thing this week: Shopping day with the husband.  Beautiful weather.  MAP testing with the students at school.  I scrambled 5 dozen eggs this morning before school for breakfast burritos at morning snack time.  I think it’s fun though.  When I put a lot of effort into it they put it in their testing.  We get to do outside projects the rest of the afternoon.  Yesterday they had sidewalk chalk contests where they each had a square and had to decorate it with the theme of saving our planet.  The top three get a pop at lunch.  We also painted a sign outside and are planting flowers and picking up trash.  Such a fun week.

I've got to spend quite a bit of time with my nephew lately.  He's absolutely adorable.  I love him so much.  I hope my baby turns out half as good as he is!

Movement?  I think so.  I haven’t had anything major happen like a kick that I could tell was a serious movement but if I get too far over on my stomach in bed she is too smooshed and I can feel her.  When they took her heartbeat you could barely hear it because she was moving around so much in there.

Food Cravings?  Mexican, spicy food.  Still drink lots of milk and eat a ton of cereal.  Granny Smith Apples, Jason buys me those all the time.  I can eat like 3 in a setting.

Symptoms:  Getting fat J….I literally don’t feel anything.  Never been sick, I can eat anything, do anything, no heartburn.  My belly, legs and arms are fat and that’s it.  I have to remind myself I’m pregnant so I don’t get depressed.

Labor signs?  Nope

Anything make you sick?  Nothing

Miss anything? Margaritas on Cinco De Mayo

Looking forward to anything?  Graduation this weekend and next weekend.  Memorial Weekend.  May 30th is my teacher work day and then school will be out.  I’m ready for summer, to move.  I’ve got 2 field trips coming up with my students in the next two weeks.

That's Maggie and Olga drinking water at my feet.......Silly girls.
Ok, Not really the best picture....I almost didn't even put it on here.  I look puffier than I really am in this pregnant shirt and my arms look huge :) Also don't really like the dirty clothes basket in the background but I had a tired, grumpy-ish husband rushing me and his camera skills were lacking this week :)  We needed a re-do but this will be good enough for this week.  I'll get a better one next week.

I’ve really got to get better at this.  As of tomorrow I’m 16 weeks but this is just my 15 week blog…..but I guess it counts anyway  :)  Hopefully I can get on top of things and get this done a little sooner in the week. Things are pretty busy.  At school getting ready for MAP testing and field trips and only 20 actual school days left!  That’s a very exciting thing!

We have an official baby name picked out for our little girl.  She will be named Kolbi Diane Ghidoni.  So far I’ve gotten pretty good feedback on the name…(not that it would matter)  We are very happy and very excited!  We will get another sonogram at the doctor next month so that should confirm for sure she is actually a girl.  We will be twice as sure as we are now.  Everyone has already begun preparing for her to get here, buying baby clothes and girly things for her already.  We are getting close to half way there so I guess it’s time to start.  We already have her “coming home from the hospital” outfit.  She just needs some booties to go with it.

How many weeks?  15 weeks (and 6 days)

Gender:  Girl

Size of baby:  4.0 in the size of a navel orange

Weight of baby:  about 2.5 oz

Belly Button in or out?  In

Wedding rings on or off?  On

Mood:  Happy, Excited……occasional mood swings and immediate sadness but for the most part happy.  I’ve been having a lot of weird unexplained emotions and honestly I don’t really like it.  It’s very strange.

Sleep:  Great really.  I sleep a lot and I sleep hard.  Having some pretty strange dreams.

Stretch marks?  Not yet…….

Maternity clothes?  Not really.  Belly bands with my pants and a my loose fitting shirts.  Haven’t had to do the whole wardrobe switch just yet.

Favorite thing this week: We went fishing this weekend which was fun and nice to be outside getting some sun.
Prom was Saturday so we got to see all the pretty dresses and then Jason and I helped with after prom which meant I pulled an all-nighter ‘til 5:00 a.m.  Yes, this pregnant woman made it all night.  There were a few times I was sure I wasn’t going to make it and I was going to have to go home but I made it!  Jason was in charge of basketball games in the gym and he played basketball all night with the boys like he was still 18 in high school, needless to say he’s paying for it in soreness these last couple days.
A student brought me some flowers that they picked which really brightened my day!

Movement?  Not Yet, I keep thinking I feel something.  It’s happened about 3 times.  It’s a weird feeling but I haven’t felt anything that I can tell is a kick or any major movement that makes me feel like she is kicking me in there.

Food Cravings?  Lots of cereal and fruit….spicy food, had buffalo wraps last night.

Symptoms:  I have NONE!!  I was in glad when we had the sonogram and she said constantly moving all over the place because since I have entered my second trimester I don’t really even feel pregnant anymore.  My back hurts occasionally, I’m still tired sooner than usual but for the most part I just feel fat and puffy and that’s it.  I sometimes forget she’s in there.
Labor signs?  Nope

Anything make you sick?  Nothing, smells don’t even really bother me anymore.

Miss anything? I want to go to World’s of Fun this summer….how boring would that be as a pregnant lady?

Looking forward to anything?  School getting out in May.  A friend’s wedding and going to see family over memorial weekend.  Finding a place to move to.  Sunshine and summer break. My sister and brother both graduate this month so that’s exciting too.
